SSBC connects business societies across Sydney schools through a shared competition, a shared curriculum, and a shared network — built by students, for students, and judged by the industry they're preparing to enter.
The council, in brief
Each existing school business society keeps its own identity. SSBC is the shared layer that connects them — a competition to compete in, a curriculum to learn from, and a network to belong to.
An interschool business case competition, opening with an online qualifying round and closing with a live final judged by industry professionals.
Short, self-paced resources students can finish in 10–20 minutes — how a business makes money, reading an income statement, debt versus equity, and market research fundamentals.
A council of member societies, each represented by one or two student delegates, coordinating events, speakers, and opportunities across schools.
2027 Sydney Interschool Business Case Competition
Teams of three to four students take over a fictional Australian infrastructure operator and steer it through four live episodes — no finance background assumed, no single right answer. Every team receives the same information at the same time.
Round 1 runs entirely online. Finalists present in person to a professional judging panel at the live final.
